Happy New-ish Year (yeah, it's kinda February already...)

Friends! Happy new-ish year!

My year started well, but crookedly, if you will. My grandmother passed on to her next adventure (she was 98 and epic and we celebrated her passing with more joy than sorrow; I have so many great memories of her). My college-aged kids went back to school. I got sick twice (one cold, one stomach bug) and threw up for the first time in about twelve years (it was a pretty good run, but I'm still annoyed to have broken my streak).

But...

So many good things coming this year.

I have just completed my final edits for a middle grade mystery called Click. It will be releasing via Kickstarter in April, because I plan to have a special deluxe not-available-on-Amazon hardcover for it. The paperback and ebook will go up on retail after the Kickstarter.

Here's a little teaser for the cover:

I've finished my most recent rounds of edits on Every Thirteen Years, my Hansel and Gretel retelling. (And I might be looking for some beta readers after my next round of edits.)

And... The Undersecretary, the fourth book of The Determiner Series only needs one more rounds of edits from me (then it will go to my editor).

So things are clipping along. If you'd like to get a jump start on any of these stories, you can find them on Kindle Vella, in serial format (which means they're being told one episode at a time, similarly to a TV show; and they're all completely or will be by next week, so you can even BINGE them like a modern TV show!). Just click the links in the paragraphs above.

And to make life extra fun, I've put The Determiner and The Z'astra up for free this week. I thought I'd also put The Ethereal (book 3) for free, but apparently I accidentally priced it at $.99 (which is still good!)

Also, Grey Stone, Grey Lore, and Grey Fall and Other Stories are now all available at all retailers. So if you read with Kobo or Nook or whatever, you'll be able to find them there.

If you're at all interested in my women's fiction, I just started the fifth (and probably final) book in my sweet women's fiction series. It's called From the Sky and there's a helicopter medic in it (though there's a bit of a gender swap from the traditional, because this medic is the female main character, while our male main character owns an ATV business). If you've ever known a paramedic (I'm married to one), most of them are a little uptight about things like ATVs (danger, death, limbs!) so there's some nice automatic tension between the two of them.

And if all that fun isn't enough, below you'll find some other books you might enjoy. Please click through and see if there's anything you might enjoy!

This first one is a Kickstarter done by my friend, Tess. She is a gorgeous writer (there is some low-level spice, so if you're not into that you might need to skip a few chapters). And the special edition is gorgeous as well. She is also the sweetest soul. So if you're into pretty books, this might be a fun campaign for you to back.

The First Dryad by Teshelle Combs
