Coach,
As always, we try to keep it simple. Breaking the run game down into scheme families is always a good idea.
- The Inside Zone scheme is good versus every front and helps us to create double teams at the first level. It pairs great with first-level zone reads as well as 2nd and 3rd level RPOs.
- Covered O-Linemen on the play side need to Flop and Drive.
- Uncovered O-Linemen need to check the hip of the next down lineman and Climb.
- We teach our Running Backs to look for three paths on an outside zone run.
- Bounce (to the outside)
- Bang (hit the hole hard)
- Bend (take the cutback)
- The O-Line rules are simple and fall into one of two categories: "Covered Playside" & "Backside"
Power has been very good to us over the years. It's easy to teach and the scheme allows us to overload the Defense at the point of attack. There are a number of ways to do this but Power is a Gap scheme that we live by.
Much like the Power scheme, our Gun Counter Plays are easy to teach and easy to install. This scheme also allows us to overload the defense at the point of attack and we work plenty of RPO off this scheme.
The Run Game Essentials Bundle houses information on each of these schemes including methods for install along with game film.
- Outside Zone RPOs from the Gun
- The Power Run Game from the Multiple Spread Offense
- QB Footwork & Mesh Mechanics in the RPO Offense
- The Inside Zone Scheme in the RPO Offense
- G/T & G/H Counter Run Game with RPOs
Courses are available individually, or you can bundle and save. Essentially, the bundle gets you one course for free.
Thank you for your continued support!
