Akemashite omedetou from the Japan Switch Team!
ことしもよろしくおねがいします!
Kotoshi mo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
This one is a little trickier to translate, but the gist of it is 'let's have another great year together!'
If you're learning Japanese, you might be familiar with yoroshiku being used as 'I'm counting on you,' so a more direct translation would be 'I will count on you again this year.' As you can see, the direct approach results in a phrase that is not commonly expressed in English.
Let's dive into a few articles that might get you thinking about big Japan plans for 2025!
Ultimate Guide to Homestays in Japan
When you think about traveling, one of your first thoughts is likely 'where will I stay?' And in Japan you certainly have affordable options! Hostels, capsule hotels, fancy hotels, and ryokan (traditional inns).
But, we'd like to throw homestays up for consideration! If you're learning Japanese, wouldn't it be great to have someone to practice with who speaks English (or even your native tongue)? It also really helps having someone who can offer advice about getting around a huge city like Tokyo, or the best places to go for a night out, and so on. Read on to find out what to know before you book a homestay and some of our favorite providers!
