A New-to-me Mystery Author 😃📚

A new-to-me mystery author  ðŸ˜ƒðŸ“š

...and a new-to-me roadside attraction...

How have we reached so far into August? September is one of my favourite months, but I. Am. Not. Ready. Especially since here in Nova Scotia we’re one of the many global areas on high wildfire alert. For us, that means no walking in the woods—and isn’t that one of the best parts of Fall in Canada and the northern US? It’s a small price to help reduce the risk.

Have you read Gigi Pandian's mysteries?

I really enjoyed Under Lock & Skeleton Key, book 1 in the Secret Staircase Mysteries. A bonus was discovering two other series from this author, with some crossover characters. Currently I’m halfway through listening to the audio version of Artifact, book 1 in the Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mysteries. There’s also the Accidental Alchemist series, which looks to have supernatural elements.

Gigi Pandian is a multi-award-winning, multi-ethnic American author who writes clean mainstream mysteries (exception: some minor profanity). I’ve only read one and a half, so I can’t vouch for the rest—but I look forward to reading them.

Under Lock & Skeleton Key ticked so many boxes for me. Here’s a link to my review.

What’s happening with my Green Dory Inn series?

Past the half-way mark! An unexpected development has changed the game, and Landon is deciding how to respond. Next up: an unpleasant confrontation

Unusual sight on a Nova Scotian back road!

The town of Stewiacke, NS, is home to a statue of a Mastodon. I’m used to seeing that when driving past, but this metal dinosaur surprised me on a back road between Amherst and Springhill.

Let me introduce my new friend, TREXY, courtesy of Choisnut’s Tire & Auto Parts shop—clearly folks with a fun sense of humour. Want the backstory? Here’s the link: Springhill mechanic welds 12-foot dinosaur out of car parts.

Metal sculpture of a T-Rex with sharp white teeth, orange body and green underbelly. It's looming over a wheeled seat made from an old car. Made by Choisnut's Tire and Auto Parts in Nova Scotia.

Wherever this finds you, thank you for opening my email and I wish you a lovely week with some time for a good book.
