Overcoming Challenges
Glee greetings, !
I hope this musing finds you well and happy. I am writing to share with you some of my thoughts and experiences on a topic that is very close to my heart: overcoming challenges.
You see, life is full of challenges. Some are big, some are small, some are personal, some are professional, some are expected, some are unexpected. But they all have one thing in common: they are hard.
Hard isn’t easy, fun, nor comfortable. Hard means difficult, demanding, stressful, exhausting, frustrating, sometimes even painful.
But hard does not mean impossible.
Impossible means not possible, not achievable, not attainable, not doable, not feasible, not realistic. Impossible means no way, no how, no chance, no hope, no solution, no option.
But impossible is not a fact. It is an opinion. Impossible is a mindset and a limit. It simply is a challenge.
And challenges are meant to be overcome.
Overcoming challenges means facing them, not avoiding them. Overcoming challenges means learning from them, not repeating them. Overcoming challenges means growing from them, not shrinking from them. Overcoming challenges means succeeding from them, not failing from them.
Overcoming challenges means making the impossible possible no matter how hard it is.
How do we overcome challenges?
You are probably asking, how do I make the impossible possible? How do I overcome challenges?
There is no one answer, no one formula, no one recipe, no one magic bullet. But there are some principles and strategies that can help us along the way.
Here are some of them:
Believe in yourself
You have the power, potential, talent, skills, knowledge, resources, support, courage, and determination to overcome any challenge. You are capable if only you'd believe you can. You can do it.
Set a goal
Know what you want, why you want it, how you will get it, when you will get it, and what you will do with it. Have a clear vision and purpose. It is also important to have a clear plan, timeline, and outcome. Be specific about what you want. But don't set phantom goals; rather set realistic, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals.
Take action
Don't just think about it, talk about it, dream about it, wish for it, or wait for it. Do it. Take the first step, then the next, then the next, until it is done. Remember, only the proactive, consistent, persistent, resilient, adaptable, and flexible ones eventually win.
Seek feedback
Isolation limits; did you know? Don't do it alone in isolation. Don't do it in a vacuum. Do it with others. Yes, collaborate. Ask for help, advice, guidance, support, expert opinions, and suggestions from persons who have had similar experiences in the past. And while you seek help, be humble, open-minded, curious, receptive, appreciative, and respectful.
Celebrate progress
Lastly, don't focus on the negative alone. When you focus on the problems, obstacles, and the failures, they'll weaken your determination to win. Focus on the positive, focus on the solutions, focus on the opportunities, and focus on the successes. Recognise your achievements and celebrate those little wins. Acknowledge your efforts, reward your actions, appreciate your results, and enjoy the outcomes. Be grateful, proud, cheerful, satisfied, and fulfilled. By so doing, you will stay continually inspired to keep doing.
These are some of the ways that I have used to overcome challenges in my life, and I hope they can help you, too. Remember, just because it is hard does not mean it is impossible. You can do anything you set your mind to. You can overcome any challenge. Yes, you can make the impossible possible.
