The phrase “defying the odds” is commonly used to indicate doing something seemingly impossible or succeeding in a situation when others expected you to fail. It signifies that the chances are stacked against you, and you have a slim chance of succeeding. But you succeeded because you were persistent and determined to keep going. To keep pressing forward. To prosper in the face of adversity.

What’s not to like about someone who never gives up and perseveres in the face of adversity? We appreciate people who have persevered in the face of hardship because of their tenacious character and qualities.
