The True Meaning of Beauty
Glee greetings, !
I hope today's musing finds you well and happy. I want to write to you about something that is very close to my heart: the true meaning of beauty.
We live in a world of visuals. We are bombarded with images of perfect bodies, flawless faces, glamorous lifestyles, and dazzling smiles. We are told that this is what beauty looks like, and this is what we should aspire to.
But is this really true? Is beauty only skin deep? Or is there something more to it?
I believe that beauty is much more than what meets the eye. Beauty is not just about how you look, but how you feel, how you think, how you act, and how you love. Let me show you what I think beauty should be.
Beauty is in the heart
The heart that is kind, compassionate, generous, honest, loyal, and brave. The heart that is not afraid to be vulnerable, to show emotions, to admit mistakes, to ask for help, to give support, to share joy, to spread peace.
Beauty is in the soul
The soul that is curious, creative, passionate, adventurous, playful, and joyful. The soul that is not limited by labels, stereotypes, expectations, or norms. The soul that is free to express itself, to explore the world, to discover new things, to learn new skills, to grow and evolve.
Beauty is in the mind
The mind that is open, flexible, critical, rational, and wise. The mind that is not biased, prejudiced, closed, or rigid. The mind that is willing to listen, to understand, to question, to challenge, to change.
Beauty is in the actions
The actions that are respectful, helpful, caring, generous, and responsible. The actions that are not selfish, harmful, wasteful, or destructive. The actions that make a positive difference in the world, in the lives of others, and in yourself.
Beauty is in the relationships
The relationships that are loving, supportive, respectful, and trustworthy. The relationships that are not abusive, toxic, manipulative, or dishonest. The relationships that bring out the best in you, and in others.
This is what beauty means to me. And this is the kind of beauty that I look for in others, and in myself.
I know that it is not easy to live in a world that values appearance over substance, that judges you by your cover, not by your content. It is tempting to conform, to fit in, to please others, to seek validation, to resist the pressure, comparison, competition, insecurity that this media shove down our throats.
But I also know that you are beautiful. Not because of how you look, but because of who you are. You are beautiful because you have a heart, a soul, a mind, a body, and a spirit that are unique, wonderful, and precious. You are beautiful because you have a purpose, a passion, a vision, and a voice that are powerful, inspiring, and meaningful. You are beautiful because you have a story, a journey, a legacy, and a destiny that are yours, and yours alone.
So, , don't let the world tell you what beauty is. Don't let the world dim your light, or dull your sparkle. Don't let the world make you forget your worth, or your potential.
Instead, let the world see your beauty. Let the world feel your beauty. Let the world hear your beauty. Let the world know your beauty.
Be yourself. Be beautiful. You're enough.
Thank you for reading. Until next time, stay safe, stay sane, and stay beautiful.
