You probably didn’t miss the requirements—you never got them in the first place.

Data engineers get vague asks all the time:

“Can you pull this data so we can maybe look into churn?”

The fix isn’t to ask for “requirements.” It’s to ask better questions.

What are they trying to prove? What decision does this help them make? Who actually cares?

The earlier you ask, the less rework later.
