Attention stamina

Happy Monday!
This year, I've been trying to make reading sexy again.
Because as a mum, I can painfully feel how short attention spans are – for kids AND adults.
So I:
- Scheduled trips to bookstores
- Gave my child a special allowance for books
- Used audiobooks to read more without skipping anything
- Ran a reading challenge inside THINK and Speak Like a Native
Honest truth? It's been humbling.
Back in uni, I had a book club, well technically, it's just my friend and I. lol
Anyway, the deep questions and talks shaped who I am. I want that experience for you, too.
Try this: Read the first 5 chapters of Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella (she left us last year – still hurts).
Then answer these two questions:
- Audrey wears dark sunglasses indoors and refuses to take them off. What do the sunglasses symbolize? How does her family's reaction show their different levels of understanding?
- The title is Finding Audrey, not Saving or Curing her. How do the first five chapters frame "finding" as a process? What glimpses of her old self do we see?
Reply with your thoughts – and I'll send you an $80 coupon for any of my courses.
Let's make reading sexy again.
Ms. Truda
