Thinking of our community this Christmas

Hi everyone,

Like so many across Australia, Ireland and around the world, I have been thinking a lot about the recent events in Bondi.

My thoughts are with everyone affected, their families, friends and the wider community. Moments like this remind us how closely connected we all are, even when we are far from home.

As Christmas approaches, I wanted to reach out simply to say that Irish Around Oz is thinking of you. Whether you are celebrating surrounded by family, spending your first Christmas abroad, or finding this time of year a little harder than usual, you are not alone.

The Irish community has always been about looking out for one another, checking in, and showing kindness when it matters most. If there is one thing we are good at, it is pulling together.

I wish you a safe, peaceful and warm Christmas, and I hope the new year brings health, happiness and better days ahead for us all.
