One of the most common things women tell me is this:
"I’m eating less than I used to…
I’m exercising more…
But the weight won’t move."
This is their belief about it all-
“If I just had more discipline, this would work.”
And eventually they start assuming something must be wrong with them.
A lack of discipline.
A slower metabolism.
Getting older.
But the real reason diets stop working after 40 often has very little to do with willpower.
It has a lot more to do with how the body responds to stress over time.
After decades of:
• pushing through busy schedules
• juggling work, family, responsibilities
• under-sleeping
• dieting on and off
• over-exercising to “stay on track”
…the body can begin shifting into protection mode.
When that happens, several things change:
• cortisol patterns shift
• metabolism slows
• the nervous system stays on high alert
• the body becomes more likely to store fat — especially around the belly
This is one reason why simply dieting harder often stops working.
The body doesn’t respond well to pressure when it feels threatened.
It responds better to support, rhythm, and signals of safety.
This is why when women start supporting their nervous system and hormones differently, they often notice changes like:
• better sleep
• calmer digestion
• steadier energy
• and eventually their body becoming more willing to release stored weight.
Not instantly.
But steadily.
If you’ve been feeling like your body suddenly changed the rules on you, you’re not imagining it.
And you’re definitely not alone.
Sometimes the most helpful thing is simply having someone help you connect the dots between your symptoms, hormones, metabolism, and nervous system.
That’s exactly what I do with women inside my Hot Mess Breakthrough Sessions.
EACH WEEK I open a few spots where we can look at what’s actually going on in your body and begin figuring out your next steps.
If that sounds helpful right now, just reply to this email and say “help.”
I’ll send you the times I have available this week.
You deserve to feel like yourself again!
