You probably know I live in the Atlanta area. Last Friday I had a travel sales appointment in the Nashville area, a funeral to attend in Pennsylvania and a quick meeting with my CPA in New Jersey. I did it all in 36 hours, flew 5000 miles (12 hours in the air) and my total airfare cost me $60!
HOW??!! The Frontier GoWild pass. It cost me $299 for a six month "membership" which gives me flights for 1 penny! (plus taxes). Here's the catch - domestic flights have to be booked the day before. International (Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean) can be booked up to 10 days ahead. So, you have to be nimble and ready to go. But WOW what a deal.
And of course, you're subject to their flight schedule - which in this case, to make it all work, required some needless visits around the country (see image).
Of course, I needed to freshen up before the funeral and instead of booking a hotel, I used my Priority Pass and got a "free" (included in my membership) nice hot shower - complete with towels, shampoo, etc. PLUS an hour to nap in the private room at the Minute Suites in the Philadelphia airport.
It was quite an adventure, but I wanted to prove to myself I could do it - so I could show you that you can do it too! Finding the best ways to save on travel is my goal for myself and certainly all my clients.
