Welcome to the June 6th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.
The Story of My Week
Yesterday was the big day.
I had the virtual class for the 3 Power Leverage for Successful Christian Living Workshop.
After the class, I felt like I had poured out my heart.
And above that, I am confident that this was content that would take my audience to another level of life.
I believe it was 3 hours well-spent.
Once I was done, I needed time to refresh. I was grateful to God for everything.
Grateful also to my wife for her support.
On Sunday, I took a walk to the beach not far from my house.
I didn't swim - I just went to watch.
I walked back home afterward.
Now I have started preparing for the next class in August.
Things I Learnt
1-Practice What I Teach: During the week, I decided to significantly reduce my social media engagement.
This was contrary to what I did in the previous week as I was promoting the workshop.
Ordinarily, I should push more during the week of the workshop to get more people on board.
My reason for taking a backseat was because I felt I needed the silence.
There was a part of me that felt I needed a new level of depth for this workshop.
On Wednesday, fresh insight washed over me. This continued into the early hours of Saturday.
I am glad I took the silence route.
It raised the value I brought to the class.
Silence is one of the things I teach during the class.
I was able to practice what I was going to teach again to let them know how it brings personal transformation.
2-Do the Work, Trust God for Results: As I took time to be silent from social media even though I was marketing a course.
God honored the work I had done in the previous week and my commitment to go silent to serve the class better.
I even got someone sponsoring people to come for the class.
Interesting that some paid for the class but were not able to make the class.
I am sure they would still get a blast from the replays.
It reminded me of something I discovered some year ago.
"When God can trust you with His Word, He will trust you with His people. Not a crowd of spectators, but His people that want Him."
And I got a bunch of God-seeking people show up for the class.
I am proud of them.
And I know God will draw them closer to Himself.
They will live better lives that honor Him.
