Welcome to the December 3rd edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
There is always a community you need around you for every specific season of life.
Not just any group of people.
A community of people who can help you navigate the challenges of that season of life.
I know that.
Because I am currently navigating one of those unique seasons.
And the value of the community I have around me during these times is immense.
I didn't build them all at once.
I built them by taking the next logical step that showed itself in front of me.
God plants people along our way and our first task is to show ourselves friendly to them.
Once we do that, we are on our way to take the relationship as far as we can.
The more we can invest in it, the more we can get value from it.
I am glad I invested in a couple of valuable relationships.
They are paying off now.
The questions they ask, and the feedback they provide - are worth their weight in gold.
Things I Learnt
1 - Never Stop Believing in People Even if They Disappoint Occasionally: One thing about leadership is that you can't do everything by yourself. You have to learn to trust people.
And sometimes, they do less than stellar jobs.
But don't stop trusting them to do better.
And training them.
Training them bridges the gap you see so they can become who you expect.
Eventually, they will make your job easier.
I saw that during the week.
One of the ways I train people is by letting them into my thinking so they understand why we are making a particular business decision.
Eventually, they will learn how to think in a way unique to their personality which delivers great results.
After they have been trained to think in a higher way.
It makes it easier for me to replace myself from a job.
2-When the Present is Fighting the Future: When God gives a bigger vision of the future, the road through the present can be rough and tough.
This is what I am currently fighting.
I am excited by the prospects of the future but the pressing against the emotions that come with facing the fights on the way now.
How can I keep a calmness driven by the future in the face of the stormy weather I am facing now?
That in itself is a miracle.
It's the miracle of faith.
To find encouragement in the unseen so that I can win against the seen.
It may not be fun, but it is worth the price of admission.
When the flattering emotions roll in, I ask myself "What's the one step I can take to get me closer to the unseen future?"
I do that and I turn to God.
Because only He can bless my efforts and encourage my heart.
So, that I don't stop at the next bus stop.
I got my eye on the ball.
Postscript
May the Seen challenges of the present never take you off the road to achieving the great heights promised by the Unseen future. Amen.
