Faith & Life Lessons – September 15, 2024

image

Welcome to the September 15th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

The team you keep will push you further and faster if you have the right team.

My personal team is driving me to push for 2025 in 2024.

Led by my coach, we are trying to do in 100 days what I planned to do in 365.

First thing, my coach got me to push higher in the targets I set for 2025.

That’s the easy part.

The next part is trying to compress time.

This is the difficult part.

It simply means that no minute must be wasted.

Every hour must be funnelled through the prism of the goals I am chasing after.

By the way, I am only focusing on 3 goals for the year.

These goals are big enough to propel me into a better expression of who I can be.

Yes…who I become comes first before what I want to achieve.

Thanks to my personal team, this is how I am going into my 2025 goals in 2024.

I’m doing 365-day goals in 100 days.

Things I Learnt

1-What I Say “No” To: To say “Yes” to anything, you must be ready to say “No” to something else.

During the week, I went back to the book “10x Is Easier Than 2x” by Dan Sullivan & Benjamin Hardy.

One of the things it nudged for me was this - I need to say “No” to the 80% of things that don’t deliver the results I need to I can say “Yes” to the 20% of things that will deliver the results.

This is a play on the Pareto principle. But I like it.

I have to keep refining what I say “No” to.

I have to say more “No” than “Yes”

Why?

I will always get more things calling for my attention than the things I need to really give my attention to.

There are some “No” that create significant millage.

For example, saying “No” to staying long on social media reduces decision-making fatigue.

What do I mean?

Every social media post requires a decision - like, share, save or ignore.

The more such decisions I make, the more I lose decision-making power for other life decisions.

Or, I will be in too much of a hurry to make or pass off a decision I should make.

I am saying “Yes” to better decision-making in other areas of life.

2-What God Has Said: I am currently in a season that calls for a great level of courage.

Courage because I have to aim for things that were never on my list of plans.

There is something I have noticed during these seasons.

I am finding helpers and partners show up from different parts of the woodwork to support me.

OK, let me correct that. Helpers and partners are showing up.

I am not going about to hunt them. I am been linked to them via social media and personal referrals.

I am seeing a clear case of God making all things ready so that I have no excuse to not do what He has asked.

Yes…no excuse to not do what God has asked.

I can’t use the fear card either. Because I can always take my fears to Him.

I am living every day to show my quiet confidence and assurance in God’s ability to work through me to do what He has said.

I am working like everything depended on me but I live knowing that everything depends more on letting God work in me and through.

I am working and God is working.

It’s not an equal partnership.

It’s a partnership of equal faith. God’s faith in my ability to trust Him that He will bless what I do to accomplish what He has said. My faith in God’s ability to inspire my mind to know what I should do per time and bring people around me to support everything I am doing so that I will see what He has said in my life.

Postscript

May you always have quiet confidence in God’s ability to bless your work so that you see the results He has promised you. Amen
