Welcome to the June 18th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
Over the past week, I have had discussions with at least two families who said they are leaving Senegal.
For both of them, the straw that broke the camel's back was the latest political demonstration.
I could understand their stories. When the family is involved, you focus on their safety and security ahead of anything else.
Interestingly, I see God's reason for bringing our family here even more strongly.
Recall the story of Lot and Sodom & Gomorrah.
Sodom & Gomorrah were not destroyed because of the evil they did. It was destroyed because of the lack of good men & women in it.
I know our family is part of the good men & women that God needs to bring prosperity during difficult times to the country.
That is one of the reasons why we are here.
And we intend to maximize our effectiveness in God's story for this country.
Things I Learnt
1- When God Moves the Chess Pieces: I saw God move some chess pieces on some of the issues I was pushing for - personally and professionally.
The biggest chess piece he moved was me.
Yes, me.
I also saw that he was moving other chess pieces.
By moving me, I could see things from a different vantage position to understand how the other chess pieces were working for me.
Me and every other chess piece - moving to the rhythm of heaven.
All things work together for good.
2 - Compounding Makes Better: Someone sent me a personal message to let me know that he liked my writing. Someone else put a comment on a social media post that writing is my unchosen profession.
Hmmm...I didn't get good at it because it can to me like sunshine on a summer day.
I got good at it by doing it.
The compounding effect of doing it consistently helped me get better.
For example, for over 5 years, I have written and published weekly - not daily but at least once a week.
That level of consistency compounds and improves to make it better.
I have not reached mastery so I still have a bit of ground to cover.
But I'll keep at it.
Postscript
May you find the resilience you need to show up consistently and bring the best to what you do. May your resilience be rewarded with excellence in execution. Amen.
