Shhh...Early Sneaky Cover Peak!

Mar 23, 2026 10:10 pm

Spring has arrived, Word Lovers, with all its turbulent weather and new life. After a fairly snowy winter, I'm positively thrilled by the addition of more sunny and almost warm days mixed in here and there. I've got some fun news and a sneaky little advanced peek at my upcoming book cover, so I hope you stick around to check it all out.

This past month, one of my writer friends posted a set of pictures of herself posing like her book covers on Instagram, and I just thought it was too fun to pass up! So for your entertainment, here are a couple of my favorites from my own posts.

My six-year-old took this one, and I was impressed by her attention to detail, making me stand just right. It was very cute.

And here I am with the whole stack. I love how my little pile is growing, and I'm so excited to let you all know I'll be releasing not one, but four books this year! First, my time travel WWII/Urbex mash up serial, (June, July, and August) and then the first of a two part prequel to the Games of Greed and Ruin that I'll be sharing more about soon, releasing in the fall.

From dragons, to daggers, to time travel to sky pirates, I can't wait to share more stories with you. I'm still in the process of getting blurbs written up (as in I haven't started yet, but my fellow Mommy Writer, Jennifer Q. Hunt has promised to help me whip my sad blurb skills into shape) so by next month, I'll be sure to have a shiny set of blurbs to share with you.

I was looking over the calendar last night, and while the main event of the book takes place on May 14th, that's a family birthday, and a little too soon, so I'm planning that as the target date to send out ARCs of book one, Breaking Triviality. The official release will be in June, with each book in the series releasing one month apart, which means book three will come out when I'm in the states in August, allowing me to send out signed copies of all three at that time. Seriously, bubbling with excitement!

As of now, sign ups are still open for me street/ARC team, so don't hesitate to click here to join in all the fun.

And now...scroll to the next image to get a sneaky peek of the mock up for the cover that my cover designer, Candice Yamnitz, has created for me! There are still a couple of tweaks we need to make, but it's very nearly ready!

Isn't it beautiful!? I'm so excited to have the entire set of covers ready to share soon! Be sure to join the team so you'll get all the details early and have a chance to read each book a month ahead of the release date.

In other fun news, be sure to sign up for Sparkler, the new YA flash fiction magazine, started by a couple more of my Mommy Writer friends as a place for teens and parents to discover new, clean YA writers who are committed to creating age appropriate stories. The first issue is coming out in April, and it will feature a preview/prequel story introducing some of the characters from Breaking Triviality. Each of the stories in the magazine (which is FREE!) will range between 700-1000 words. Just a nice little introduction to a new author. This month, the featured author is Jaime Jo Wright, and all the authors are adults, but submissions for teen writers will also be available soon!

And don't forget, April is also release month for Of Pastries and Vengeance! This story is so much fun, and will feature a number of characters from One Must Die and Of Clockworks and Daggers. The main characters are Maple (from OMD) and Rory, a new character. But there are great cameos by two of my characters, Zenith and Phoenix! You won't want to miss out on this continuation of the Games of Greed and Ruin series.

Thanks for sticking with me this far. I value each and every one of you, and always love hearing from my readers. Curious about any of my books? Don't hesitate to click reply :)

Have a great day!
