Hi gang,
I thought its time for me to get a little serious about the career mentoring I do. Some of you know me because of that, some of you don't. It's like a little club for people getting career help if they know the secret handshake.
I started my career as a developer like everyone else: trying to get a job without any experience. With just my resumes and cover letters I was able to go from nobody interviewing me to interviewing 100% of the time. That's what I teach people to do w/ resumes.
I'm offering 1-hour consultations for resumes. So if you're interested, grab your 1 hour. I have 1 slot left.
🗒️ Thinking About a Portfolio Site?
I get asked pretty regularly by people about how to go about building a portfolio site.
My controversial answer is, “Don’t.
” What I want to talk about today is why I recommend limiting your time making a portfolio site and using that time on other things.
🗒️ The Power of Personal Responsibility
At a conference during the time between sessions, someone remarked that The Responsibility Process changed their life.
I read the book and went through the class, and it changed my perspective as well.
Enjoy,
Ryan Latta
