We're heading into the final quarter of 2026, which means many businesses will soon be planning next year's budgets and priorities. Technology will inevitably be part of that conversation, especially with AI creating a steady stream of new tools, subscriptions, and opportunities. But before you decide what technology to add in 2027, I'd suggest something much simpler: figure out what you already have.
Technology has a way of accumulating. Someone signs up for a project management tool. Marketing adds another platform. A website needs a service nobody remembers purchasing three years later. An employee puts an AI subscription on a company card. Meanwhile, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace may have added features that duplicate something you're paying for elsewhere. Individually, most of these decisions make sense.
Together, they can become an expensive, complicated technology stack that nobody is really managing.
