In January of this year, a man named Sam was praying about the direction of his life. It became clear that the Lord was telling him it’s time to make a move. Sam knew what that meant. He connected with Doreen and accepted the position of discipleship teacher at the Lupin’s safe home. This decision was also an answer to Doreen’s prayer. But Doreen soon found out that God had answered more than one of her prayers. Last December, Doreen had plans to prioritize the health of Lupins’ staff in 2026. Burnout is high among social workers in Uganda. Our staff are excellent and Doreen wants them to remain stable and refreshed. Therefore, she prayed for God to help her accomplish this. Now, 5 months later, Sam has not only brought more joy and spiritual growth to the rescued girls, but God is using him to bring healing and spiritual growth to the staff. For example, Millie, who is teaching the girls to sew, said of Sam, “you make me feel like I’m still loved by God.“ I should mention that Millie is the mother of one of the girls we rescued, and she was devasted when she found out about the abuse of her daughter by a family “friend”. But God is healing Millie. Millie and her family have even started doing devotions in their home. Additionally, several of our staff are learning to forgive their fathers, who abandoned them as children. As they forgive, God is bringing peace to their hearts and joy to their lives. Even Doreen has been experiencing the healing of the Lord through Sam’s Bible teachings. Sam is very happy at Lupins and he is confident this is where the Lord wants him.

What a blessing it is to see the mighty work of the Lord in, and through, the lives of His people.

The staff are also enjoying times of fun and refreshment. Recently, they went to an adventure park, along with a few employees from another ministry in Uganda.
