Accidentally deleting my YouTube account was exactly what I needed

Happy Monday, ,

A year ago I deleted my YouTube account, including all of the videos.

Hundreds of videos.

Gone.

I texted my wife, "I think I just ruined my life."

I had been applying to TEDx events, and those application videos were gone, too.

It felt devastating.

Until I decided, "This isn't going to keep me from landing a TEDx stage.

I wiped my tears and got back to work.

I re-posted my application video to a new YouTube account and sent the updated link to the organizers.

Spoiler alert: This new channel is performing exponentially better than the one I deleted. But I wouldn't have changed anything if I still had that account.

Sometimes the thing that's holding us back has to fall away so that we can move forward.

You got this!
