How my friend's CA firm went from spam to inbound leads

Last year less than 1% replied and his number got flagged as spam. Here's what changed.

Hey there,

Let me tell you a quick story about my friend's accountancy firm.

Last year around this time, he hired an agency to blast a list of WhatsApp numbers - the message was basically "file your taxes before March 31st, here's our number."

The result? Less than 1% replied. And within a couple of days, his number was flagged as spam.

Sound familiar?

This year we did it differently.

I found a service that sends one-time marketing messages on WhatsApp at scale. There's one drawback - the numbers used are virtual, so you can't follow up from them.

Which means you have one shot. One message. No second chances.

So instead of pitching, we used a lead magnet.

Here's the exact message we sent:

Hey πŸ‘‹

ITR filing deadline is coming up β€” and most people end up paying more tax than they actually need to.

Not because the rules are complicated. Just because nobody told them what to claim.

I put together a free checklist β€” "10 deductions salaried Indians miss every year" β€” that shows you exactly what you can save before filing.

No CA needed. Takes 5 mins to go through.

To get it free, just WhatsApp the word SAVE to this number πŸ‘‡

wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX?text=SAVE

Once you send it, I'll share the checklist instantly.

What happened next?

His business whatsapp number got bombarded with inbound leads.

Not everyone converted to a paid client directly. But the ones that did were way more than last time.

The point was to get people INTO his funnel - warm, willing, and already trusting him before a single sales conversation.

Compare that to last year: spam folder, 1% reply rate, burned number.

The difference was one thing: give before you ask.

The checklist did the trust-building. His main number did the closing.

Here's the framework behind it:

  1. Timing Hook - create urgency without being pushy ("deadline is coming up")
  2. Pain Agitation - name the problem they already feel
  3. Blame Reframe - remove shame, make them lean in ("not complicated, nobody told them")
  4. Specific Free Resource - concrete deliverable, not vague
  5. Effort Minimizer - kill the "is this worth my time" objection
  6. Frictionless CTA - one word, pre-filled message, instant reward

This works for any B2B business. CA firm, cold email agency, recruitment firm, SaaS - doesn't matter.

The channel is WhatsApp. The mechanic is the lead magnet. The result is inbound.

This is exactly the kind of stuff we're covering in Conquer Clients Version 2.0

The next batch is going to be bigger and better:

And for the first 5 people that join - LinkedIn Sales Navigator Core for 2 months on me. That's the tool. Free. No catch.

If you want in before we open it up - hop on a quick call with me and we'll see if it's a fit.

Best,

P.S. March 31st is the tax deadline. It's also a good reminder that if you're still waiting for the "right time" to fix your outreach - the deadline is always closer than you think.
