The Content Diaries 💌 10 quiet rules I’m taking forward

Hi ,

It’s the last week of 2026.

The kind of week that smells like pine needles, plum pudding and custard, the kind where your phone goes quieter and your thoughts get louder.

This year rearranged my life without asking permission.

It looked like building client brands before sunrise, then crouching on the bathroom floor at 7am, scrubbing tiny hands slick with soap and jam.

It sounded like Slack pings colliding with nursery rhymes. It felt like my nervous system doing parkour.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I learned some rules I’m not giving back.

Not resolutions.

Practices.

Quiet decisions that changed everything.

Here are my 10 practices:

1. I stopped explaining my no.

I used to hand people paragraphs, footnotes, emotional receipts. Now, if my gut says no, that’s the sentence. Full stop.

2. I treat my energy like it actually runs out.

Because it does. Some days I was designing brands at 5am and wiping sticky fingers at 7. Energy is currency. I choose where I spend it.

3. I let my work speak before I do.

I thought I needed to sell harder. Louder. Shinier. What I learned is this, my work already proves who I am. My content just gives it a microphone.

4. I stopped performing for the algorithm.

No dancing. No lip syncing. No manufactured urgency. My brand feels calm, clean, confident, and that’s the room I own.

5. I learned how to slow down without falling behind.

I raced my to do list like my worth depended on it. What I’m taking forward is slower mornings, deeper breaths, and less checking if I’m “keeping up.”

6. I made rest a business decision.

Rest used to feel like dessert. Now I see it as strategy. When I’m depleted, everything costs double. Rest keeps my edge sharp.

7. I stopped outsourcing belief in myself.

Silence isn’t a verdict. A slow reply isn’t rejection. I know what I built. I don’t need echoes to trust it.

8. I only work with people I’d have coffee with.

If I wouldn’t sit with you for an hour talking life, kids, dreams, and the messy middle, I won’t carry your brand on my back.

9. I started being proud out loud.

Women are taught to shrink. This year taught me to say, I did this, without softening the edges.

10. I’m making space for a life I want to remember.

One day I’ll blink and she’ll be grown. When I look back, I want to say I was there. I saw it. I lived it.

If the year ahead is the one where you want your business to feel lighter, cleaner, and held, not heavier and louder, reply with 2026 and I’ll send you the next step.

Here’s to work that fits around your life, not the other way around.
