This is a newsletter of a different color! I want to introduce you to a new series.
My SPOTLIGHT SERIES! First.....
Many of you know already, I came from a Music and Entertainment Business background, but thanks to April's Toolbox, there are many new folks on this list, so this is to help introduce who I am to all you great folks who have signed up recently as well.
I'm a 70 year old British woman now living in the States. I was heavily involved in many aspects of the business for well over 43 years, including touring, and gigging with my own bands, to booking, management and promotions. The only reason I had to pivot my career and profession, was because in 1995, I got severely kicked in the back while trying to maneuver through a mosh pit in one of the clubs I managed.
Altho the severity of the damage was not noticed right away, 3 months down the road, I was on the floor, and my first recovery took almost a year, (while ignorant doctors claimed I was only experiencing arthritis, I knew in my heart I had damaged discs in my spine) but I managed to get up and work through it, and after being able to walk upright again, I continued to book and manage clubs and bands in the area I now live.
Unfortunately, in 2004, while trying to move and sort boxes after moving into our new home, the portion of my spine that was damaged, gave way, and I spent another almost 3 years in agonizing pain, not able to walk or stand. It is a bloody miracle I can do so now, but everyday is a careful experience of inability to bend, turn or do many of the simple things I used to be able to do, paired with more health issues on a daily basis, but I persevere the best I can, given the mass amount of physical and health problems I endure daily.
Why am I telling you this?
One reason is I wanted my good people on my mailing and subscriber lists, to understand more about me, and why my whole life now evolves around a computer.
Two, because I want to introduce you to Fran Whitaker, one of my very favorite people, and a seller of products I adore as much as I adore her. Not just that, she has fought through many physical issues, and won, not just in her online business, but also her personal life. You see, my friend is not only a certified life coach, with several certificates, and a self-taught expert in PowerPoint, SEO, and building WordPress websites, but she is also a Paralympic and World Champion swimmer for the UK with medals to prove it.
Fran has beat her physical problems (or at least tamed them) and has gone on to be a successful business owner. She is an inspiration to all, and if Fran can overcome insane physical life handicaps, so can we all!
Many of my network are still confused about PLR, and also how to use PowerPoint. While those two things are not necessarily connected, if you are in this niche as most of us are, PowerPoint is what you are using, or should be. I know, I know, Canva, Trello, etc etc..... NOT!
PowerPoint is King, as PLR is King.... (with the exception of PS Elements, which I use hand in hand with PowerPoint) it is the best way to create in this niche, in my opinion!
The combination of PLR & PowerPoint is the key to working smarter and creating more content while saving time and energy. PLR and PowerPoint work so well together, it's like they were specifically made for each other, a match made in heaven lol.

I can honestly say, this software is the best thing Microsoft ever designed or put out! (and if you know me, you know I don't have much good to say about Microsoft!!)

Did you like this opening series, I hope so. You see, while working in the entertainment industry, promotion and publicity go hand in hand, and were also part of my job as booking and management.
When I wrote, and maintained online magazines and articles on the industry, I would also spotlight a band or performer, or even sometimes a club etc, as part of my content. I also ran a list of "clubs, promoters, agents, and entertainers" to either seek work from, or simply stay away from.
Currently I am creating a list like that at the FORUM, in the private area, which will contain the good, the bad, and the ugly lol, and will be a list of resources I have actually worked with, bought from, or had some kind of dealing with, so anything I add to the list will be "tried by experience" only! I'm a big believer in truths, and feel tried and true knowledge is the most powerful thing out there, and should be shared.
Of course anything I ever say, is always my own opinion, experience, or point of view, and I always will encourage others to research things on their own, but when it comes to money, and spending it wisely, I find most people like reviews, and recommendations, so expect a SPOTLIGHT of great people I have encountered in some future newsletters, and if you want to discuss the good bad and ugly, join the FORUM and be sure to fully activate your accounts.
