When I checked my email again after posting in the forum, I was shocked to find out this is an ongoing thing since last April, but end of September was the first I was aware of this Plaid garbage, and now that I know more, I am confidant I still have a guardian angel, who most likely made my bank statement go "poof" in an effort to delay me long enough to find out the following.
Another of my wonderful subscribers sent me this little message
"I'm a follower of your Color My Agenda site and read your last newsletter about Etsy sending out an extension notice for Plaid verification. They did that to me, also, even though I deactivated all my products in my store. They are doing that to all their sellers, in response to a group of sellers (myself included) who started petitioning them and banding together to resist signing up with Plaid last April. Well, I followed those links above, (and YOU should too) and boy did I get educated, about Etsy AND Plaid!
This is what Etsy sent that the above is referring to:
Hi there,
We recently reached out and asked you to verify your bank account to continue receiving funds from Etsy. We know the holiday season can be a busy and important time for your business, so we’ve extended the deadline to give you more time to verify your information.
In August, we announced that we’re requiring all sellers in the United States to verify their bank details to keep our community safe, reduce the risk of fraud, and help Etsy meet evolving legal requirements.
We recommend that you verify your info as soon as you can, but you now have until January. You can see how many days you have left to verify your details by heading over to your Shop Manager.
In January, we'll start pausing deposits for shops that have not verified their bank details. If you don't verify your bank account by the deadline in your Shop Manager, you’ll no longer be able to receive funds from Etsy./
Bottom line, NO, I will NOT be verifying my account, I may have already given out too much, regardless of how many times they write and say complete your verification.
I thought about waiting it out just a little while, maybe to the 2nd week of December or sooner, have some Etsy sales or closeouts, but I would hate to make sales there and have Etsy keep the funds. I have not trusted Etsy for years, and this seals the deal!
So instead, I will put the shop back on vacation mode and leave Etsy for good, mostly based on what I just spent 2 or more hours reading. So many other sellers have already done so, I will be the next.

By the way, if you are reading this now, I wrote this last night, but did not want to send a third mailer out yesterday. Those that know me, know, I usually only send ONE mail a week, rarely it's 2, and sometimes it's one mailer every 2 weeks, so this is not only unusual for me, but should tell you how important it may be for Etsy sellers and buyers alike.

The Etsy Saga!
Earlier today I wrote out a fairly long post in the forum. I placed it in the Members Only area, so you have to be a fully verified and activated member to see that forum, so the below link will only be accessible if you are a logged in member. You can join free anytime.
It contained all correspondance between me and Etsy over this issue, and also questions and responses from some of my subscribers who reached out to me.
BUT, since then, I just discovered a new email from Etsy, and to be honest, I don't know if it has anything to do with my letters to them, or if others have also been complaing about this new Plaid BS.
In any case, they sent a letter stating (I, we) have until January to verify with Plaid (sounds like a scotch tape) and so I have reopened both shops for the holidays. Mind you, I still don't know if I will stay the long term, I will have to see what the Holidays might bring in the way of revenue, and if it might be worth staying, but if I still continue to have trouble with Plaid, or my sales suck as usual, I will close those stores for good (the Color My Agenda shop, and the Green Content PLR shop). I have many other places I sell all those products, including a couple of shops exclusive to PLR only, so it will be b-bye Etsy for good then. We will see.
