YAY! October, the month of fragrant woodsmoke, beautiful autumn colors, the beginning of sweater weather, and trick-or-treating, is finally here. And, as a bonus, it's my birthday month. If your birthday is also in October, shoot me a response to this email to get a shoutout on my socials on your special day.


The subject line of this newsletter is from one of my favorite poems, "To Autumn", by John Keats (who shared my birthdate). It charts the season's mature colors, its blooming fruits, and the warm comfort and glory of Fall. It's also the season of wet weather, mud, and the beginning of downed trees and power lines.


๐Ÿ“š Brooklyn Book Festival - Literary Marketplace, September 27. Sadly, due to inclement weather, this event was CANCELLED! A storm whose name I've yet to learn washed it out and flooded the subways and the Hudson River's banks in some places.
