October Heroes Ruck
(Farmers, Ranchers, and First Responders)
When: Saturday, October 3rd @ 7:30am
Where: UM HQ (3130 Shelley St.)
What You Need: we'll depart from UM HQ and do the circuit ruck at Tierra Briar Hurst Park. Bring a ruck sack and some good shoes. We'll have the coffee!
Fire-starting
When: Saturday, October 24th @ 7:30am
Where: Aaron Hird's residence
What You Need: suck down some coffee with the fellas while we start fire with our bare hands. Nuff said. Check out our YouTube Video here.
TR's Birthday
When: Tuesday, October 27th
Where: Wherever you like.
What You Need: No formal event... just an opportunity to celebrate the life of the quintessential American, Theodore Roosevelt. To live it up TR style, we recommend some strenuous physical exertion, followed by copious amounts of food (we do fried chicken, his favorite), followed by a good book. His life is the enduring reminder that you don't have to be perfect to be great. All you need to do is GET ACTION!
Total Archery Challenge
When: Saturday, November 14th @ 8:00am
Where: Turpin Outdoor Education Center
What You Need: Join the fellas to crush hearty breakfast burritos and face off in an archery showdown where the top shots win some sweet prizes. The center provides all the gear, creating a perfectly level playing field where raw skill decides the champion. Sign up as an individual or bring your own team! Check out our YouTube Video here.

Overland Navigation
When: Saturday, November 21st @ 7:30am
Where: Wilderness Park (at Epworth Arches)
What You Need: unlock the ultimate backcountry skill with our hands-on land navigation challenge. You will learn to plot coordinates, master terrain association, and navigate directly through dense brush to locate hidden waypoints. It is a high-stakes, practical test of self-reliance that transforms you from a trail-follower into a true explorer. Check out our YouTube Video here. We'll provide all the materials. Just bring a ruck sack, good boots, and clothes that'll take a beating from the brush. We'll also have the coffee!
December Heroes Ruck
(Miners and Fishermen)
When: Saturday, December 5th @ 3:00pm
Where: Jamaica North Trailhead South
What You Need: Come ruck to Roca to hoist a beverage to toast the end of another good year. You'll need a ruck sack and good shoes. This will be an odd object carry. We'll have rides back from Roca.
Book Club Breakfast
When: Saturday, December 19th @ 7:15am
Where: Greenfields Cafe
What You Need: come down some bacon and eggs and wax philosophical on the first section of this year's book (more details forthcoming).
