When you start something new, there's a chance that you might not do it 'right' the first time.
We are usually pretty compassionate or clear on that with little people, but why does it seem so much harder for ourselves?
We forget that trying and succeeding is nice. Phew, we did it. But trying and failing gives us feedback, an opportunity to learn what didn't work, and refine our skills and patterns to increase our chances of long-term success in the future.
With all that is going on in the world, take a moment to acknowledge that many of the 'normal' things we do have a added and more challenging layer to them - which makes it NEW. Our failures, (we'll get into expectations of success at another time), are our lessons. And while you may be going for a PhD in life, many days it may feel like kindergarten.
So, today, do what you can to extend the caring and understanding you'd give to a child, and turn it on yourself...
- You can learn with everything you do
- Failure shows you're going outside your comfort zone
- With all the learning, sometimes you need to go back to kindergarten - take a nap, play with a friend, have a snack, get our your crayons...
I'm proud of all the work you're doing, no matter the result. Hope that helps.
Let me know what learning curve you're on at the moment...
More soon,
Jennifer
PS - if there's a topic you want me to cover, let me know. Just getting settled into writing again (learning and possibly failing...)
