March 8, 2023

Dear Huntingdon POA,

I wanted to reach out to everyone as promised to update you on our POA. It seemed like just yesterday we were closing the pool for the 2022 season and we are back on the cusp of Spring and it’s already 2023! Our annual meeting is scheduled for April 8, 2023, at 9 AM at the Pool Pavilion to discuss any issues as a POA and vote for the Board members.

Also, our annual POA dues are due at this time. The yearly dues are $320.65 per household. If you have a duplex, the amount is $641.30. You can start sending those checks in now, and remember that we will only be able to issue keycards and fobs or turn on your access to the pool once we have your annual dues paid.

You may also pay online by Credit Card, Debit Card, or eCheck (nominal fee applies**). Just visit www.hpoaonline.org/payment.html and follow the instructions to pay your annual dues. Bookmark this site, as you can also pay for any remainder owed on your Special Assessment – if you owe one - here and download the app for convenience. Once you create an account, the system will remember you.

We will send a separate statement with an itemized amount of what you currently owe (dues), including any installment payments still due for the pool special assessment.

We will work to get the pavilion ready before the end of April. We typically turn the water off to the pool house during the winter months and will have it turned on before late April. As always, we have some minor maintenance items at the pool and pavilion that will be buttoned up this Spring, including minor tile work, new signage, and updated pool and pavilion rules. Other than that, we should be good to open the pool up around Memorial Day if not sooner. We will send out updates to our pool rules before the season starts.

During our annual meeting, we will discuss ways to improve the neighborhood moving forward and get more HOA members involved. We will also discuss creating a Garage Sale Day in the Fall and Spring for the POA.

We will have a couple of POA Cleanup days where you will get a chance to help us rake leaves and clean up around the pool, pond, and other Greenspace areas in the subdivision. Stay tuned for more information.

The pond is in “decent” shape right now, and I'm certainly thankful to have Lake and Pond expert Marson Nance as a neighbor. We are going to take care of some of the loose branches around the pond. Please be careful when walking in that area. Other than that we will keep you updated if there are any changes with the pond, but no news is good news for now.

If any streetlights are currently out, please let us know to contact the electric company and let them know. Both Ozarks Electric and SWEPCO serve our POA. If you see the light out, we need the Pole # and street address (usually on a stamped metal medallion on the lower third of the pole) and what company services it.

I want to personally thank everyone on the POA Board for their tireless effort and hard work. Shout out to Adam Hedman, Leslie Poynter, Chad Cox, Adrienne Kvello, Jesse Smyers, Michael Nimmo, and Del Brooks. Everyone on the Board has been a tremendous help. Also, I want to thank our neighbor Lucas Regnier who continues to provide wisdom, legal counsel, and advice to the Board.

With that said, I have to say a special thank you to Leslie Poynter, who has worked tirelessly on our board as Treasurer for many years. We couldn’t do it without her, but like a good season, her time on the board has ended. She has decided to spend more time with her aging parents.

I want to encourage someone in the POA to consider running for Treasurer this year. Leslie will help anyone adjust to the role; if you are specifically trained in accounting, that would be even better.

That's all I have for right now. I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve this great neighborhood, and I look forward to our continued growth as a community.

Be well,
