There is No Such Thing as Perfect

Once upon a moment, I was on a job interview for a startup.

She tried to ask me a trick question but I had way too much experience building businesses to fall for the trap.

She asked me, "How do you know when something is done or perfect?"

And my response was, "Nothing is ever done or perfect. Everything is a work in progress."

This little corporate-style Asian lady looked shocked. I believe it's because I answered so quickly and accurately.

This is where most fail. They try to be perfect in everything they do.

Perfect is a virtue, not a destination.

Done is better than perfect — since perfect is unattainable.

Most people use "perfect" as a means to procrastinate.

But the person who starts is always going to be more successful than the person who procrastinates.

For example, two people can start a YouTube channel.

Person A takes the time to get the perfect background, camera, lighting, etc. but they publish whenever they get to the motivation-kick, which is rare because motivation is a lie to keep us procrastinating.

Person B has no lighting or background and records on their phone but they publish consistently.

Guess who's going to reach 1,000 subscribers first?

Again, done is better than perfect.

If you're not creating daily, you really don't want to win.

You want W2 wage life. You're a zoo animal enjoying the zookeeper feeding you but you're in a cage!

When you're ready to join the rest of us hunters in the wild who enjoy ultimate freedom, because we're not tethered to a desk or work schedules, chained to "or else" deadlines, with an overseer (boss), I wrote you a manual to free you!

I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. I could uproot and go enjoy a warm beach in Miami right now and my income would not be harmed (in fact it would probably increase my income).

I have no one to answer to. I don't have to ask anyone for time off.
