Don't Disrespect Jesus De La Hotep

Following my Rogan appearance, as you can imagine, I received a flood of inquiries.
One of them was a crypto web app company.
He initially reaches out in a warm manner.
I reviewed their site and I believe they have a great product.
His ask: Upload my content to their website
My response: Equity in the company
He gives me a run around about the potential gains of their shatcoin and blah, blah, blah, but he doesn't seem to get it. He thinks because YouTube is censoring creators he can sell me on his platform.
Let's be clear. He's one of many options. Another option is to create my own. Either way, I'm happy on YouTube...for now.
And I'll tell you why. YouTube is the second highest used search engine in the world. Second to Google, their parent company. I'm not on YouTube simply to broadcast. I'm there for convenience and exposure.
I understand firmly their censorship practices and I do not agree with them. But in my mind, anyone is a suspected communist that will censor me, especially these crypto boys.
He continues on about how YouTube owns my content and they can delete it at anytime and with blockchain it exists forever. Yawn...
These guys think because I'm black and talk slang that I'm an idiot. I'm privy to these facts and I'm a purveyor of this kind of knowledge.
I wonder if these people research me before they reach out. Obviously, not.
If I upload MY content on THEIR site and then send MY viewers to THEIR site, THEY gain access to MY audience. AND the valuation of the company increases; exponential in comparison to the noodles I make off a donation.
I'm basically back at square uno with UTube, making another man rich off my IP. I might as well stay at YouTube. At least they make it possible to be discovered in Nigeria. These startups can't compete!
If you want me on your platform, cut me in. I don't want much but I want in on the cap table.
Anyway, after this guy practically stalks my Twitter with updates about his little app, he proceeds to email me AGAIN with the same shitty offer.
I politely asked, "Are we discussing equity?", thinking maybe he's finally understanding.
He responds to my email with, "What are you bringing to the table?"
At this point my blood could easily boil but I've been in this position too many times.
Let me remind you, I didn't solicit this guy, he solicited me. Now he's trying to make me look like the beggar after stalking me.
I took my seven heavenly breaths and casually typed back, "Why did you initially contact me?"
He apologized, finally recognizing how crazy he looks and recognizing that I recognized how crazy he looks, and then proceeded to sell me the same tired talking points about earning fake crypto coins.
...to which I declined, again.
He sent yet ANOTHER email with more tired talking points about his influencers, like I'm supposed to be impressed he has a bunch of blue check grifters on his site.
And so I declined again.
Here's where he messed up. He doesn't know what drives me. He thinks he does, which is why he sells me the millions of hits to his site, fables of pop influencers, and potential money making opportunities.
I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth and I was spoiled. Money don't impress me. Plus my mom was a Fortune 500 executive. My father was one of two black electrical inspectors in all of New Jersey.
I'm not some naive trailer park rapper without a dad. Stop playing me!
And I hate blue check marks, so telling me about them is only grinding my gears.
At this point, even if they offered me equity, I don't know if I'd take it because of the experience I had with them.
The moral of the story is, know your customer and never try to sell to someone if you don't know their paint points.
And if you don't know how to do that, join us at the summit.
This week only it's 75% OFF a yearly subscription, when you compare the price to the non-sale value at $95/month, which is about $1,160 for the year. That's over $800 in savings!
Lock in now. Our next summit is two days away.
