3-Point Thursday #210
Oct 08, 2020 4:27 pm
Hey,
Winter is coming, can feel the temperature dropping rapidly π₯Ά! It's all a bit mad at my end still as I continue to try and put together a master plan to take over the world, whilst potentially moving places in a couple of weeks.
Anyway, we keep it moving!
This week's 3-pointer:
Another enjoyable conversation this week, this time with GB starting guard Teddy Okereafor. By the sounds of things, we could well see Teddy back in the UK playing in the BBL this season, which would be absolutely awesome for the game here and would mark another GB players back in the domestic league. Times are changing...
π Lynch Trophy opens D1 this weekend
NBL Division 1 action returns on Saturday with a new piece of silverware on offer for teams in NBL Menβs Division One following the creation of the Lynch Trophy. The competition β driven by the clubs and being sanctioned by BE β sees all 14 NBL Division 1 clubs, plus invited academy sides Myerscough and Charnwood go at it in 'bubbles' at 4 different venues. Gonna be great to have some hoops back - all will be live streamed - stay tuned to the site for details.
π Queeley wins European title
19 year old Kareem Queeley became the first Brit to win a Basketball Champions League title at the weekend, and joined a small handful of Brits to ever win European title. Though minutes were hard to come by, it's a welcome positive story in amidst the craziness that is 2020 - he can add the BCL title to his Euroleague junior title with Real Madrid - must be the first Brit to win a junior and senior club european title?!
That wraps up another week, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else.
With gratitude,
Sam
