3-Point Thursday #347

Feb 29, 2024 3:38 pm

Hey,

It's a rainy day in London so we stay cooped up inside writing newsletters!

This week's 3-pointer:

🦁 Lions women continue historic run to EuroCup Semi-Finals

London Lions extended their perfect record in EuroCup Women this season after beating Melikgazi Kayseri to reach the semi-finals. They will find out their opponents after tonight's games. What a season!

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ GB Senior men split games

The Great Britain Senior Men started off the EuroBasket 2025 qualifying campaign with a big win over Netherlands on Friday, before falling to Czechia on Monday evening, struggling to make up for the loss of Luke Nelson. Felt like it marked a new era for GB - different guys in the mix, plus Steutel given the piece of mind as permanent Head Coach, and of course, Dan Clark as GM (worth checking out this interview with BBL Daily). Hopefully it only goes on an upward trajectory!

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Tosan signs two-way with Detroit

Congrats to former Newcastle Eagle Tosan on getting a two-way contract with Detroit, following two ten-days with Memphis and Detroit. Amazing to see, and what an inspiration for younger players coming through that it is possible, with he second player out of the British system to make the name in as many years (the other being Jeremy Sochan). Also happy that we managed to get him in the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic six years ago as a 17 year old! Good luck to him and we all hope he can stick around.

That wraps up another drop, as always hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else.

With gratitude,

Sam

P.S. You been watching the NBA live coverage on the BBC? Thoughts?
