Hey,
The good news - finally interviewed 777 Partners this week for the podcast about their BBL investment, the bad news - not had a chance to edit it yet. Expect it to drop in the coming days - but I came away pretty optimistic to be honest...exciting times!
This week's 3-pointer:
🇺🇸 Brits in College
Brits continue to represent across the pond with a number of big performances, including Jeremy Sochan who is appearing on NBA mock drafts for this year - what a story that would be! See how the guys are getting on here and the girls here.
🔝 Transforming UK basketball - Kevin Routledge op-ed
Interesting op-ed from Leicester Riders owner Kevin Routledge on the recent BBL investment and plans for it - dubbed 'Project Rebound'. He notes Birmingham and Liverpool as targets for new franchises, along with saying the plans "will require an unprecedented alignment in the various governing bodies and entities" - the unfortunate stumbling block on many an occasion in the past.
🕸 Hoopsfix Foundation Discord
The discord server is going from strength to strength as we are fast approaching 30 members, ranging from club owners to content creators and coders - all trying to push the game forward in their own ways. Once we have a few hundred members in there, I can see it becoming one of the most valuable assets to connect the British basketball community of 'do-ers' to help make permanent change. Drop a reply to this email if interested in joining.
That wraps up another week, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!
With gratitude,
Sam
