Hey,
Every week is getting away from me at the moment, time is FLYINGGGGG! How is it April already?!
Anyway, this week's 3-pointer:
π Hoopsfix All-Star Classic returns
We finally have announced the return of the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic this summer (and shiny new event website by 5or6!) - book it in your diary - Saturday 28th May at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre! A massive thank you to Foot Locker, Sportserve, Molten, 5or6, Always Ballinβ and Red Bull for once again helping us make it happen - we'll be assembling the best U19s out of the UK to play in two all-star games, plus 3-point shoot out and dunk contest. Early bird tickets are now available - for a limited time only with up to 25% off general admission cost. If you have got any value out of Hoopsfix over the years - the more than decade worth of free content we've put on the web - this is the only time of the year I am going to harass you to support us and buy a ticket! If you run a club, work at a school, whatever it might be - please consider getting a group together and travelling down - with a bigger venue comes double the capacity (and costs!) and we want to put on a show! If you have any questions, or want to arrange a group booking, drop a reply to this email and we can work it out. Hope to see you there!
π Academy Season Complete
I've been in Manchester this week for the culmination of the EABL, WEABL and ABL seasons. CoLA completed a perfect season to dominate on their way to the WEABL title, Charnwood recaptured the EABL title in a thriller vs Myerscough (condensed highlights here), while Dagenham Park completed a perfect season for the ABL title. Off-court, I tweeted a photo earlier of the baseline - it was great to see so many content creators on hand to capture it. The rapid development of technology has made it so easy for anyone to become their own mini media outlet, the eco-system is healthier than it ever has been (though still plenty of room for growth)...need the mainstream media to follow!
βΊ Record women's crowd in Newcastle
Massive props to Paul Blake and co at the Eagles for setting a record with 1,122 fans in attendance for their WBBL match up with Caledonia Pride. What the Eagles are doing this season with ticket sales/crowd sizes at the Vertu Motors Arena is impressive, and shows what is possible!
That wraps up another drop, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else.
With gratitude.
Sam
