3-Point Thursday #213

Oct 29, 2020 7:51 pm

Hey,

Good afternoon! I am writing to you from a very empty/messy room, as I finally made the move yesterday, now living in Stratford with the Copper Box Arena literally a 3 minute cycle down the road which is very convenient (it was about 15 mins before, makes all the difference!). Other exciting thing about the new place is my wifi is strong enough to do live streams...going to be looking at doing the podcast live among other shows - maybe some call in stuff? Let me know if you have any ideas!

This week's 3-pointer:

🎙 Podcast: Josh Steel

Having covered Josh since he was a 14 year old, now having him on the pod really reiterates to me how time flies! Enjoyed going down memory lane with him, and his story is one I feel is defo worth sharing. Let me know what you think!

🏀 BBL reveals Cup fixtures

Everyone has been waiting on it and we finally have the first lot of fixtures for the coming BBL season - starting this weekend! Looking forward to it - though it remains a concern to me that the government clearly still has not outlined what their financial commitment will be and the league still doesn't have the money. On the topic of the BBL, check out this nice feature from Brad on British BBL rookies to keep an eye on, along with Manchester Giants' rebrand and vision for the future, which I found compelling.

🎥 Video: Nick Lewis cookin'!

I went to my first basketball game in the UK on Friday in about 8 months or so as the Lions took on Sheffield in pre-season at the Copper Box. Felt good to be back in the gym, albeit weird with all the restrictions and no fans - Nick Lewis starred so threw together a little mix of him in action. Other must-watch video this week - Lewis Champion's crazy game winner in the L Lynch Trophy at the weekend to sink Hemel!

That wraps up another drop, as always, let me know if you have any questions, comments or anything else!

With gratitude,

Sam
