If there's one thing to be sure of, it's this

Hey, !
I love our Bible time together with the children. During our Bible reading time with the children, we read Psalm 136 and it turned into a time of pointing to the Gospel and also teaching the children how to look back at our lives and give thanks to God for what He has done.
A phrase that is repeated throughout 139 is "for His steadfast love endures forever". Let's take a moment to define steadfast and endure.
- Steadfast is defined as: reliable, unwavering, dependable
- Endure is defined as: remains in existence, lasting, persistent
We then plugged in those words:
God's reliable love remains in existence forever
God's unwavering love lasts forever
God's dependable love persists forever
Forever is simply forever. It's permanent.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8) He doesn't change, not one bit. That's so comforting and was something I needed to be reminded of.
With this verse, I showed the children how God is good even when we feel life isn't going the way we want it. There is always something in life that we can give thanks to God for.
We then all took turns to say something good God has done for us and then we all repeated "for His steadfast love endures forever"
Lastly, I pointed the children to the Gospel. Simply, God loved us so much that He gave His one and only Son Jesus Christ who is fully God and fully man who was born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, who was crucified with our sin and shame, who took upon God's wrath and punishment on our behalf, who gave us His righteousness by dying a bloody death on the cross, yet rose on the third day, who has risen and ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, who sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with us, and will one day come back again for His church.
That, my friends, is the Good News!
God is good, and His steadfast love endures forever. That is what all God's children can be sure of.
