Why Praying With Thanksgiving Matters

How was your Thanksgiving with your family? We pray that it was very blessed for you!
It's been a busy week of fun, family, feast, and fellowship for us. Amidst all the fun, we're looking forward to getting back to our normal routine next week!
Something we've been working on recently has been thanking God for the works of His hand. Taking opportunities to thank Him for what he's doing in our lives and what he's already done for us. It's so easy to just let life go by without acknowledging God's hand in our life. God's works, not our own works, deserve all the glory, praise, and adoration.
Our pastor has been preaching about spending time memorizing Psalm 111 and focusing on the wonderful works of our Lord not only in our life but in the lives of those around us.
When we focus on His works, we come to realize how much we ought to be thankful and grateful for because of what God has done, and because of how great and marvelous He is.
When was the last time you marveled at the amazing works of God's hands? I know we don't do it often enough and there's no better time than now to start making it a daily habit.
I was reading and stumbled upon this quote by R.C. Sproul. His quote says:

When we pray to a Holy God, He is deserving of our thanksgiving because He is Lord of all.
I know sometimes when I pray, I'm not always thankful. It's hard to be thankful when I pray about certain things, to be honest. But this quote really puts prayer into perspective for me.

So let's remember, no matter the circumstances friends, let's give thanks to the Lord with all of our hearts and pray with thanksgiving because God is sovereign and His works are marvelous!
