"A large income is the best recipe for happiness I ever heard of." - Jane Austen
If you've ever read anything by Jane Austen, like Pride and Prejudice, Emma, or Sense and Sensibility, you know how fond she was of irony. This statement is a perfect example.
You would expect, given that her novels are essentially love stories with happy endings, that her chief message would be how love conquers all adversity, and that all one really needs is love to be happy.
But Austen was also a pragmatist. She knew that life could be miserable without a reasonable amount of money. We need to take care of our expenses after all. If there was enough to be charitable and help our neighbours, even better.
Is your attitude toward money helping or hindering you? Take a look at my course Fix Your Money Mindset to learn how to cultivate an attitude that will be helpful, not just to yourself but to those around you as well.
