Fall issue is out now 📰... and we got married! 💑
Sep 07, 2021 11:03 pm
September is here and the goldenrod is popping, which means you haven't from us in a while. While I was quite sad to skip out on sending our mid-August letter, I was incredibly happy (and busy) because... Nikki and I got married!
We tied the knot on August 28, right here in our beautiful home of Canaan Valley. We were grateful to throw the wedding (aka party) that we envisioned, capped off by one heck of a performance by Kaleta and Super Yamba Band - be sure to check them out! A big thanks to Canaan-based photographer (and our good friend) Liz Stout for capturing our magical day of love and friendship. This means, of course, that Highland Outdoors is now officially a family-owned, husband-and-wife business!

The fall magazine is here!
We were also incredibly busy because the fall issue was due to our printer just two days before our wedding. This may or may not have been the result of classic journalistic procrastination.
We received the new issue bright and early this morning, and will be distributing through this weekend. Keep an eye out for the HO Mobile as we cruise around West Virginia with mags and bikes in tow!
This issue features the tale of an epic 40th birthday bikepacking trip, climbing Seneca's hardest rock climbing route, the story of paddling the Lost New River, cave exploration and mapping, aspen trees, forest soil science, and the amazing fall bird migration. Be sure to grab a copy at one our 100+ distribution locations, or subscribe below!

Where have you beanie all my life?
Did you know that it hit 31 degrees in Canaan Valley last week after the remnants of Hurricane Ida swept through the Mountain State? Now that the first freeze is in the books, it's safe to say that beanie season is officially here. Well, there's good news - we have beanies in stock! Order one before the next brain freeze hits.
