Show Me The Money! Grants & Funding - Practical Tips & Support
Revised: August 2024
Hello wonderful people,
Featured this month are a load of initiatives for the W Midlands, including probably one of the best programmes I have the pleasure in promoting, the WMCA Activate programme. Activate is a support programme for freelancers and small organisations in the cultural and creative sector featuring an array of great workshops, masterclasses and grants - oh and if you're a freelancer you'll be awarded £500 just for attending! WMCA is delivering this programme with great partners including organisations that I know well including Burley Law and (ahem!) my team! I applaud the fantastic Fiona Latter for co-developing this programme.
Can I talk about advocates? Shoutout to Charlotte Bowden. It’s humbling when someone wonderful tells you that Charlotte has been promoting what we’re doing at hibretOne to her fellow City Council colleagues. Navigating organisations like these are always tricky, but with a Charlotte, or a Fiona as your advocates, life is so much easier. Thank you so much ladies!
Our next placement showing-off her skills is Thanaporn Patcharapokakul, an international student from Aston University. Thanaporn is demoing the work we have done around User Interface/User Experience. We want to ensure the platform supports the widest profiles of entrepreneurs, including those from diverse backgrounds and with additional accessibility needs.
