Hi ~

When a friend told me the story about the dream she had about Jesus, I asked her to write a guest blog post for me.

If you've been reading at Here's the Joy for long, you know that (even though I'm not charismatic, I feel compelled to disclaimer) I believe that experiences can enhance our Christian faith. In fact, I would say at some level, experiences are essential to our Christian faith.

I won't enlarge on that here, because I've written about it a good bit on my blog--based on the Scriptures.

And, my friend, I used to write books of true missionary stories for children. You can't do research on the work on God in pioneer missions for long without coming up against dreams and visions and . . . experiences. Experiences that either begin a person's journey with the Lord or enhance the relationship.

Whether or not we should seek experiences can perhaps be the topic of future emails or blog posts, because it's not a simple answer.
