This is too important not to send

Hi

Though I don't like inundating you with emails (two in one day today), I just received this email from the makers of a documentary whose trailer I've been waiting to be released.

On the heels of the Amazon docu-series Shiny Happy People comes a documentary of a few of the women who were abused in the Bill Gothard cult and who have still trusted in God, still found their way out to the true Lord Jesus Christ.

It's another wake up call to the church at large. A much needed one. Dan Allender and Rachael Denhollander are interviewed, among others.

This is the email announcement I received. A photo headed it, but I haven't been able to duplicate that here.

UNTIL THE TRUTH is a searing and inspirational feature documentary project that explores the aftermath and recovery from sexual, psychological, and religious abuse.

WATCH THE TRAILER

This ongoing production is a multi-year, intimate, and character-driven exploration of a group of women who allege that they were systematically abused at the hands of Bill Gothard, one of America’s most influential evangelical Christian leaders.

Trauma fragments our ability to think and therefore to hold memory. And while every journey of recovery from abuse is unique, there are shared, essential steps that play out over time. This film explores these stages in depth.

The stories of powerful men preying upon women are everywhere. Other than the survivors themselves, very few ask the question — what happens after the abuse? This film is more than just an exposé of horrible things done—it is an unflinching, intimate story that puts the realities of abuse into a larger context, focusing on the architecture of recovery and asking — is healing possible?

We believe this film will help others caught in abuse, and will create deeper connection, understanding, and empathy around an issue that continues to affect all of American society. Visit www.untilthetruth.com to learn more, watch the trailer, and find out how you can support this important production.

Sincerely,
