Details about the retreat where I'll be speaking in May

Hi ~
Years ago I wrote books of true missionary stories for children and teens. One of them, Living Water in the Desert, was based in Iran. You can see it here.
A couple of years after that one was published, my editor at Christian Focus Publications wrote to me to say, “Rebecca, we’re going to do a reprint. Any changes?”
“Yes!” I said. “In that last chapter I promoted Saeed Abedini as a hero of the faith in an Iranian prison, and now his wife is speaking out about him abusing her. He needs to be removed from that book.”
(My wonderful editor has always been very understanding and took care of that.)
Well, that brave former wife, Naghmeh Panahi, will now be speaking at the same retreat (as a featured speaker) where I’ll be speaking (as a breakout speaker).
WHAT: Called to Peace Ministries He Makes All Things New Women’s Retreat.
WHEN: Thursday May 2nd – Sunday May 5th.
WHERE: Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, near Asheville. It’s a beautiful place!
WHO: Women survivors of domestic abuse and/or childhood sexual abuse and those who are called to walk with them.
You can expect around 350-400 women to be there, and the excitement and energy is palpable.
Besides the powerful worship times and the main sessions, there will also be a number of breakout sessions. I and some others will be presenting in the childhood sexual abuse track on “organized abuse.”
I’ll also have a book table, and I’d love for you to stop by and introduce yourself!
The first time women attend the CTPM retreat, the main descriptive word I’ve heard is “overwhelming.” But don’t give up, because as you continue to return each year, you’ll see growth in yourself from previous years and an ability to just enjoy being there and continuing to connect with the Lord and be empowered as His precious daughter.
The theme of this year’s retreat is “Beloved.” You can see an interview I did with Lauren Rose talking about this theme here.
It is one of my passions to help those who have been abused to be fully delivered of their shame and be able to truly see themselves as God’s beloved daughters.
If you’d like to come, I pray that the Lord will make a way for you to do so.

I hope to see you there!
Rejoicing in the one who calls us "beloved,"
Rebecca
