Yes, I’m excited about getting it out to you a teensy bit early.

Your responsibility

You are a beta reader. That means you have the extremely important task of helping me make this book better.

You’ll do this by making comments on the manuscript where the material is (1) unclear or confusing, or (2) uninteresting or slow-moving.

I also invite comments where the material gives you an aha moment or encourages you in some way.

I value both types of comments, one to tell me where I’m off track and the other to tell me where I’m on the right track. Both kinds are helpful!

If a chapter feels uninteresting to you, instead of trying to wade through it (or abandoning the book!), please make a comment that it’s slow moving and then just skip on to the next chapter. I don’t want you to have to slog through anything that you find boring.

Accessing and commenting on the book

I’m linking you to the book in two forms, Google docs and pdf. Please choose the form that you’re most comfortable with for making comments.

In pdf form, it depends on which pdf reader you’re using, but in Google docs, you can highlight the text you want to comment on and click on the comment icon.

Here is the book as a pdf. You can download it to make your comments.

Here is the book in Google docs. Comments made here will be public.

Another option for private commenting is this: from the Google doc, going to "File" --> "Download" and choose your format; then you can make comments from there.

If you choose to comment privately, please send your commented-on manuscript as an attachment to rebecca@rebeccajoydavis.com.

The earlier you can complete your beta reading, the more helpful it will be to me, but I'll need to have all comments by October 22nd, when I'll be seriously digging into those manuscript revisions.

Some things to note about the manuscript

1.    The manuscript is formatted, but the formatting isn’t complete. That’s because with your comments I’m expecting to expand some sections, remove other sections, etc. So if any of the formatting looks a bit wonky, don’t worry about it.

2.    Anything highlighted in yellow isn’t finished yet, but that shouldn’t hinder your work.

3.    Proofreading hasn’t happened yet. Don’t worry about little errors—that’s not what you’re focusing on here.

4.    Scriptures haven’t been checked and standardized as to which versions I’m using. Don’t worry about those either.

5.    The Untwisted Truths at the end of each chapter aren’t filled in. This is where I would LOVE your input. I’d love to include what YOU believe are the most important points in each chapter for the summary points.

Book Launch Team

As beta readers, you will be automagically added to the Book Launch Team (who will write and post reviews when the book launches).

If the book made a positive impression on you, I’m asking you to be so kind as to write your review and save it for the December 3^rd launch date.

If you believe the book needs more work before you can give it a positive review, I understand and would ask you to hold off on that review while I’m working to improve the book according to your suggestions.
