[FOR BETA READERS ONLY] A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the End of the Book
Jul 09, 2023 3:20 am
Hi ~
Well, it’s still Saturday night when I’m sending this email. So that means I did it.
Somewhere along the way, the book took an unexpected turn. I think it was when I decided to dive down the rabbit hole of “brokenness” (not realizing it was a rabbit hole, of course).
And now the book has a new subtitle: “Brokenness and Suffering.” Dying to Self and Life will have to wait patiently for a future volume, because the Brokenness and Suffering sections expanded and expanded like unwieldy balloons to take up so much space it didn’t seem right to try to wedge the others in there this time.
So anyway, here we are. I’m tired, and I can’t tell if the book is good or not. That happens sometimes when one has had one’s head down a rabbit hole for a while. Or actually several over the course of months.
So I trust you will help me with making it better. And I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciate your willingness to do this.
Here is your access to the book: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TNjrGbWJ2q0fAotMFkK0xSI9t3V1CTHXlGE_fETLufk/edit?usp=sharing
Please note that you’ll need to download it to make your comments. If you make in-line comments, please use the “Review” tab --> “Track Changes.” If you would like to make marginal comments use “Review”--> “New Comment.”
Please ignore formatting glitches; the formatting isn’t done. Also, it will be pretty obvious that the footnotes aren’t finished. (I’d like to hire a competent person to finish the footnotes for me, and I’ll pay $15 per hour for that, so please let me know if you know of someone who could do that.)
This book is only about as long as my first Untwisting Scriptures book—I found that the longer ones were a little harder for people to finish. So I hope it won’t be too much of a burden to you to undertake your thoughtful analysis, and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Of course please let me know if you have any questions. And thank you again.
All my best, and for the Kingdom.
Rebecca
