[HCH] Our Future at Stake, Journal Tidbits, Quick Thanksgiving Decor

Nov 05, 2020 3:20 am

Hello lovely ladies,

How are you holding up today? It can be tough facing uncertain times...

I saw a YouTube video with an attention-drawing title: Who holds our future?

There's a picture of President Trump on one side and Biden on the other side.

I didn't need to watch the video. Whew!

I already KNOW who holds the future! No matter the outcome of the election, we can know that GOD still holds the future!

"God's Word has been given to us, not to scare us, but to prepare us," as I heard one missionary say today.

We do know that God has revealed to us that perilous times will come (II Timothy 3:1), but I do believe we can pray in unity and ask for God's help and mercy.

God's encouraging Word of HOPE is STILL very relevant today and in this very hour!

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." - John 14:1 kjv

So, let's be in earnest prayer (together) about the future of our country.

My Friend, Keep Walking in FAITH,

Rhonda White (rhondawhite@outlook.com)

Today's Tidy Up Your Life Tips: Quick and Easy Thanksgiving Décor

You don’t have to spend hours putting together your Thanksgiving décor. There are plenty of easy and fast décor pieces you can use to transform your home. Whether you are looking for the perfect centerpiece or décor for the entire room, here you’ll discover some quick and easy ideas you can follow.

Floral Pumpkin Centerpiece

If you’re looking for an easy, yet elegant Thanksgiving centerpiece to create, the floral pumpkin is just what you need.

There are a lot of different ways you can create these centerpieces. However, the basic things you’ll need include a pumpkin and flowers. The pumpkin will need to be scraped out, creating a bowl for the flowers. Make sure you opt for orange and fall color flowers, then simply place them into the middle of the pumpkin. This creates a stunning Thanksgiving centerpiece that takes very little time to complete.

You’ll find a lot of images online of floral pumpkin centerpieces. You can use these for ideas on arrangements.

Give Thanks Banner

Another easy piece of Thanksgiving décor you can create is a give thanks banner. If you want to keep it really simple, you can use your computer to create the banner, then print it out. You’ll find lots of great templates you can use for this too. However, if you do have a little more time, it’s worth putting one together yourself.

All you’ll need is some type of material for the banner, alongside stencils for the wording. Once completed, it can be hung over the fireplace or above the dinner table.

DIY Hanging Pinecones

A very quick and simple craft idea is to create DIY hanging pinecones. You’ll simply need some pinecones, string and optional spray paints. You can use spray paints to color the pinecones in a Thanksgiving theme. Then, add them to the string or material of your choice before hanging them around the home. These are so quick and easy to create, and you’ll find lots of inspiration if you look online.

Apple Candle Holders

Create beautiful candle holders using nothing but apples with this DIY tip. Simply carve out the core and place a long candle within the center of the apple. They can either be displayed by themselves, or you can combine the theme by including an apple centerpiece.

A Wooden Cake Stand

Bring a touch of nature into the home with this simple wooden cake stand. You’ll need a cut-off piece of tree trunk to act as the stand, so if you don’t have a tree you can cut, you may need to purchase a cut-off piece. It can be used alone to hold your Thanksgiving dessert.

As you can see, there are a lot of Thanksgiving décor pieces you can create yourself on a budget. The above are just some of the easiest ideas you can follow. Most of the ideas on the list will take less than an hour to put together, and they can be created in advance. Search online or Pinterest for more DIY Thanksgiving décor ideas and you may be surprised by what you find.

One other tip is that you can also search YouTube for hundreds of ideas from crafters using "Dollar Tree" purchases to create simple, affordable fall decor.
