[HCH] Update report, word of encouragement, journal jots
Dec 17, 2020 1:51 am
Hello lovely ladies,
I'm actually sitting in my office chair right now after struggling a week with the corona virus. It did get confirmed that we have it. My husband has pretty much been back to normal since last Wednesday, thankfully. (He got sick first).
I'm struggling to articulate my thoughts as I write, and I'm sorry for not writing everyone back yet. Thank YOU for each email and for each prayer. I so very much appreciated your emails and, it was such an encouragement.
I know everyone's experience has sort of been different with the virus. Some people barely know they have it, while others really struggle to recover. I think I was somewhere in the middle ground. I have done fairly well during the day, but then get sick at night.
The night before last night, I let fear and discouragement take over. Not proud of that, but I tried to pray for others who were sick. I woke up soaking wet and cold and had to take a hot shower and put dry clothes on. The night sweats are just weird, but I guess a part of the process because my parents had those and my husband as well.
Also, I cannot smell a thing yet. I actually smell this weird smell, and it makes my stomach feel a little sick having to smell it. I sure hope it goes away soon and that I can smell real things again. ha!
I reached out for some extra prayer for nighttime, and last night was so much better. I'm pushing myself to get some things done today.
Today, as our society continues to face sicknesses, financial trials, and the hardships of losing loved ones, etc., we still have a daily CHOICE to make... Who or what are we going to dedicate ourselves to serve? Who or what will gain our main focus?
Joshua 24:15 says, "Choose you this day whom we will serve."
We each have daily choices that will result in big consequences in our life. Choose GOD -- and you choose HAPPY.
Psalms 144:15 backs up what I'm saying, "Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD."
The world has NOTHING to offer of true joy and peace.
Choose God, choose happy in the Lord today! Don't keep one foot in with the world.
And when fears try to take over, do seek help in prayer...but above all turn your eyes back upon Jesus. We are indeed flesh and can end looking at the scary waves around us at times, but it's so important to put our eyes back on the Lord, WHO is the ONE who can give us strength to make it through.
"Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD." Psalm 31:24 kjv
