[HCH] I'm Grateful that God is in Charge, Aren't You?

Jun 04, 2020 1:47 am

Hello lovely ladies,

It is a joy to reach out to you today. I have a few new-comers to my newsletter list, and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to chat with you today. Welcome!

Thank you so much for those who have emailed me with personal notes, and I love having more blog comments lately. It's like hearing crickets there at times. Ha! ha!

In truth, I appreciate ALL my readers. I know some are not comfortable emailing or commenting on HCH blog. I'm totally fine with that. I'm an introvert myself, hence, my writing ministry works as a great outreach for me. [Sheepish grin]

Right now, many people are feeling anxious about the future of our country. Many people are feeling anxiety, depression, worry, etc. I surely do not know what's to come in the near future, but I do know that God is ALWAYS in control. Not one thing has taken Him by surprise!

And we don't have to sit and twiddle our thumbs. You and I can pray! He is our Heavenly Father. Ask God to help you be a bold Christian at times when it's necessary to take a stand on what you believe.

May I encourage you to look UP! Looking around causes our hearts to sink like Peter sank in the sea when he took his eyes off Jesus. Looking UP keeps us steady in His strength and trusting God.

I'm far from perfect. I have to fight a fearful heart at times. But, when I find my heart starting to tremble, I purposely turn my thoughts to choose to believe God.

With God, there is hope. With God, all things are possible. With God, we know our end... Heaven is something we will have the privilege to enjoy for eternity. The here and now is temporary -- whether there is peace or war.  That, my friend is something BIG... something WONDERFUL!

Keep Walking in FAITH,

7 Tidbits from my journal: (Use these ideas for your journal or ministry)

  • Today matters! It's never too late to be what you might have been.

  • We often believe our emotions more than we believe God. We have to learn to throw our worries on Jesus. Our bodies are not meant to carry that stress. (*Just thinking about GOD helps us relax and de-stress. Schedule quiet time to think about Him daily!)

  • "We ought to just applaud the privilege of giving." - Dr. Mike Rouse  (First of all, if we have something to give, it's because we've been blessed. Secondly, it's a privilege to be in the service of the King!)

  • "When a person understands what God has done for them, you don't have to prime them to give." - Refreshing Daily in God's Word, May 2020 issue

  • "See your worth not on the outside, but on the inside -- and then you will begin to act on the outside like you are on the inside." - Pastor Jim McCullough

  • When a small child learns to ride a bike, he / she often uses training wheels until they mature in their ability. Simple truth: Let God keep the training wheels on until it's time to take them off.

  • QUESTION: If you knew that in 15 minutes you would have to stand in judgment before the Holy God, what would your reaction be? Are you ready?

Bible Verse of the Week:

"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby." - I Peter 2:2 kjv

A hungry little baby certainly gobbles the milk with enthusiasm. Shouldn't we daily hunger and thirst for the Word of God to nourish our spirit?

The way to hunger more for the Word of God is to make a commitment to take a daily dose. Before long, you find yourself craving more and more of it!

Todays Tidy Tips:

Doing it NOW saves so much time later.

- The one touch system helps a lot. Coming in the door.... don't sit your coat down somewhere, only to have to pick it up once again to hang it up. Put it on the hook at that time, and it's done! Many people (including me) love to deal with incoming mail immediately. Toss or keep! The junk mail is now in the trash. The keep pile has now already been weeded out from the junk mail.

- A good standard is that if something will take less than 5 minutes to do, do it "NOW" and you won't have to think about it again or have it weighing on the back of your mind to get done later. Those little tasks pile up quickly.

- Make a list for 10 minute projects, and 20 minutes projects, etc. (Use a timer for awhile if necessary to get a idea of the real time tasks take to do.) These projects are great to refer to when you want to utilize your time efficiently. For instance, you're waiting for a casserole to finish in the oven, with only 10 minutes left. Do one of your 10 minute projects.

- Using a timer helps with not constantly hovering over the stove. It gives you freedom to move about. I know exactly how long it takes to heat certain items. So, I set a timer for that amount of time and off I go without worrying, so that I can do other things and come back.
