[HCH] Weekly Chat & August Bible Reading Schedule

Jul 30, 2020 10:37 pm

Hello lovely ladies,

Super short and quick email today!

So sorry for the delay of HCH newsletter, but I wanted to make sure to upload the new Bible reading schedule for August and link it below instead of having to send out two different emails.

I had a cracked, back molar tooth removed late Tuesday... the root was extra deep and took much wear and tear on my gums to get it out... Even the assistant looking at the X-rays said it was "wild." Ha! ha! So, I'm a bit rough around the edges and had some blood pressure issues yesterday, but this recovery pain is so much better than that old tooth pain. Praise the Lord!

I'm so grateful for good dentists, even though I hate visiting them! HA!  I plan to send a big "Thank you" card to my dentist. I'm ridiculously happy and relieved today. :)

And some after-thought on this topic. ( I'm sort of a deep thinker... and grateful you put up with me. LOL)

With this new pain.... it feels differently... it's one of "healing" and "hope" for restoration.  The pain before...was one of "despair," wondering if and when it would get resolved. (Been dealing with it since April.)

Life is full of heavy trials. We can feel full of despair, especially when we don't let God carry our weighty burdens because we're running circles to manage it all ourselves. When we don't trust God completely, it brings anxiety and stress.  With God there is hope, healing and restoration. It changes the pain!

Change of subject...

Last week, I shared my blessing with you about the tomatoes that my sister-in-law gave me.... and after my hubby got home that evening... do you know what gift he brought me? MORE TOMATOES!! I literally had tomatoes sticking out my ears... God surely did pour out the blessings on me last Wednesday.

Let's keep going on our Bible reading this year... EVEN if you've fallen off the wagon lately... Just jump right back into the game plan! Please don't quit! You'll be blessed! I promise!

Here is the new Bible reading schedule for August. (Remember, you don't have to download it, if you don't want... you can simply bookmark it, or just print out which pages you want.

7 Tidbits from my journal: (Use these ideas for your journal or ministry)

What other people think of you is none of your business. Focus on pleasing God and caring about what He thinks!

However good or bad a situation is, it will change. Remember, God is always in control. Nothing takes Him by surprise. We believe in a God who can turn any situation around for our good and His glory.

"You're as close to failure as you are far from the Holy Spirit." - Refuse to give up on yourself. - Don't give up on others. - Don't give up on God's will. - Pastor Jim McCullough

One of the great tragedies of life is not letting God be God.

Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

"When you finally submit to the reality that life isn't about you, but about Jesus, you'll find peace." - Dr. Mike Rouse

QUESTION: How many of you can say, "My soul is at rest?" "Isn't it a shame that a Christian has to wear himself out before he can find rest in the Lord? - Dr. Tom Malone

Bible Verse of the Week:

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:7

NOTE: It's THROUGH Jesus we will find peace! Have you totally yielded your life to him?
